Our Plate-billed Mountain Toucan Photography Feeder is located in the West Slope near Mindo Valley alongside the "Ruta del Quinde" and "Santa Rosa Birding Road". There are around 38 species of hummingbirds registered, 15 of them can be frequently observed in our feeder, 8 of them are endemic to this area including the Violet-tailed Sylph.
The Birding Sanctuary is surrounded by rivers and waterfalls, which creates a network of birding trails with Toucans, Woodpeckers, Hummingbird and Tanagers, Orchids and Bromelias Paradise, and viewing points to the Cloud Forest. The Feeders at the Reserve are a mixture of primary forest, pasture and secondary regenerating forest.
Possible Endemics Birds regularly seen include Violet-tailed Sylph, Velvet Purple Coronet, Choco Trogon, Choco Toucan, Club-winged Manakin, Choco Warbler, Glistening-green Tanager, White necked Jacobin, Brown Violetear, Toucan Barbet, Crested Guan, Crimson rumped Toucanet, Pale Mandibled Aracari and others.
