Early in the morning we will start our Top Birding Tour in the Ecuadorian Andes, a magestic day await us to observe one the endangered species like the Andean Condor in its natural habitat. We will pick you up between 6:30am - 7:30am from your hotel in Quito and drive towards the Upper Andean Valleys near Antisana Volcano. The Antisana Reserve is the most impressive Andean mount near Quito and sanctuary of wild Andean Condor, Andean Ibis, Giant Hummingbird, Cara Cara and other spectacular birds.
Upon arrival to the Reserve we will make strategic stops to observe different flora and fauna and natural treasures that Antisana offers. We will stop at an Observation Point and other places to observe birds. There are also possible Aquatic Bird Species at the different lakes and ponds in this reserve.
Target Birds: Andean Condor, Shining Sunbeam, Giant Hummingbird, Black Flowerpiercer, Caranculated Cara Cara, Variable Hawk, Black-chested Buzzard Eagle, Andean Coot, Andean Teal, Ruddy Duck, Andean Gull, Many-striped Canastero, Tyrian Metaltail, American Kestrel, Brown-backed Chat Tyrant, Red-crested Cotinga, Ecuadorian Hillstar, Spectacled Redstart and if we are lucky possible the Spectacled Bear!
If the weather permits, we can see the top-three volcanoes including Cotopaxi, Sincholagua and Antisana Volcanoes. We will enjoy a delicious Box Lunch surrounded with an incredible mountain scenery. Afternoon return to Quito.
